Points System In Georgia

Georgia has established a schedule of Points that will be assessed against your Georgia driver’s license if you are convicted of one of the offenses listed on the schedule.  See O.C.G.A. sec. 40-5-57.  If you are a Georgia license holder who is 21 years of age or older, you can accumulate 15 points over a period of 24 consecutive months before your license will be adversely affected.  Of course, do not forget that the assessment of 1 or more points upon your license may very well cause your insurance rates to rise.

If you are issued a Traffic Citation in Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia or a surrounding County in Southeast Georgia, you may very well have points assessed against your license along with rise in your insurance rates.  An experienced and knowledgeable Traffic Law Attorney may be able to assist you with those issues.  Contact Joey Cowart to discuss your options.
